WHAT BODY AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Virtually any part of the body with “excess” fat and/or cellulite can be treated with Mesotherapy. Common areas of treatment include the abdomen, arms, legs, back, saddle bags, double chin, love handles, inner thighs and buttocks.
WHO CAN HAVE MESOTHERAPY?
Generally, most healthy adults over the age of 18 may have Mesotherapy.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of treatments vary with the patient’s treatment goals, medical history, area of treatment, body size, condition of the skin, metabolism, extent of cellulite and/or fat, etc. The average treatment time tends to be once or twice a week over a 4-6 week period, or 8-15 sessions. Maintenance sessions are usually required in 12 month intervals.
HOW LONG DO THE TREATMENTS TAKE?
Each session takes approximately 20-30 minutes including skin preparation.
WILL I EXPERIENCE PAIN OR DISCOMFORT?
The majority of patients feel only mild discomfort that may last for a short period of time. A slight stinging or burning sensation may be felt during treatment. We routinely use topical anesthetic cream to help avoid this.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST? Clients with regular exercise and healthy dietary programs seem to achieve optimal results more quickly in addition to longer lasting results.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR COMPLICATIONS?
You may experience mild bruising or swelling after each treatment, which subsides in a few days. It is the responsibility of the patient to keep the treated are clean in order to avoid infection. You should contact us immediately if you notice any signs of pain or inflammation in the treatment area.
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS?
We suggest refraining from vigorous exercise for 24 hours and hot showers for 6-8 hours after treatment. Patients who have a history of allergic reactions, are pregnant, on blood thinners, are insulin-dependent diabetics, on certain medication for heart arrhythmias, have severe heart disease or have cancer are not candidates for cosmetic Mesotherapy.
* Since there are very few physicians who are trained in Mesotherapy in the United States, we will make special arrangements for out-of-state patients who wish to travel to our office.
*A medical history and physical will be done to make sure that you are a good candidate for Mesotherapy. You will be asked to sign a consent form which explains the potential benefits and risks associated with the procedure.
*Photographs will be taken for a “before and after” comparison with your consent.
